3. Walking the Talk: Rotorua has been selected to host the 23rd IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion because of its unique cultural heritage. It also offers a showcase of socio-economic development initiatives that enhance sustainability, the holistic health and wellbeing of the whole community and their built and natural environment.
In addition, the location will provide a wonderful opportunity to engage in leisure and physical activity during the Conference. From utilising the beautiful park walkways and green spaces which link the various venue spaces to engaging in various interactive sessions offered such as Tai Chi, low impact sport, touch rugby demonstrations and mindfulness activities.
Between sessions delegates will have an opportunity to participate in Māori cultural activities including weaving, song and dance, and traditional physical activity.
